The Foundation Trials – Testing “Dior Airflash Spray” Foundation

Today I tried the Dior Airflash foundation. It has incredibly positive reviews on Sephora so here’s what happened: it comes in an aerosol spray, like a hairspray which I thought it’s conceptually a good idea, or so you would think. It’s not. You cannot spray it directly on your face, and not even on the back of your hand. You have to spray it in the palm of your hand and use a beauty blender or a brush from there. I applied with my beauty blender and the shade I picked was the perfect shade (300) for me. It dries down quite quickly so you don’t have time to play around but you can layer if necessary. It has no smell which I liked. I had to staple some powder on top as it didn’t give me the desired coverage. Once I completed the look, set it and sealed with a setting spray, it looked ok. After about an hour later…everything changed…in about 5 minutes. The shade completely morphed through oxidation into at least a shade darker but also kind of yellow. It settled into all cracks and lines that I don’t even have without any make up on. It created also a weird texture that once again, I don’t even have without make up on. Nightmare! And I was heading into a long meeting…yes, with people!!! Needless to say: Dior, you flopped on this one!
